Frequently Asked Questions

What if I am not good at singing, playing, or reading music?

The focus of music therapy is on the benefits that music has to offer in all areas of our well-being, not on performance. Anyone of any musical ability is encouraged to pursue music therapy if you think it might be the right fit for you.

Is music therapy covered by insurance?

In the state of Michigan, music therapy is not billable to insurance, so all services are private pay due at the time of service. Services are payable by health care savings accounts. There are a limited number of sliding scale slots available for those in financial need. During a consultation, you will be given an estimate for the services.

Are virtual sessions available?

Yes, virtual sessions are available for all services. Depending on your location, schedule, life circumstance, technology, and internet access, this may or may not be the best option for you. We can discuss details during a consultation.
